We are a team of licensed professional counselors specializing in a wide range of issues such as: Ministry Counseling, Marriage (including Infidelity), Trauma, Men’s Issues Including Sexual Addiction, Abuse, Relationships, Anxiety/Depression.
Chris Cook is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. Chris graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2010 (MDiv, MA), and the University of South Carolina in 2017 (PhD). Prior to joining SureHope ministry counseling, Chris spent more than 10 years in ministry, including pastoring a small church in Denver, NC. Chris began seeing clients in his internship in 2009, and has worked in a variety of mental health environments, including private practice, agency and addictions settings.
He has worked with a wide variety of clients and difficulties. Chris specializes in the following areas: trauma, couple’s work, men/pastors, and spiritual issues. Chris takes a holistic approach to working with people that values individuals as physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and social beings. His background also makes him particularly suited for ministry counseling to work with clergy, church staff, and lay ministers.
In addition to seeing clients in private practice, Chris is Assistant Professor of Counseling at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
