Hello and welcome! I believe the courageous step of seeking help through counseling brings hope. I have seen this take place in my own personal counseling journey and in the stories of my clients. As a counselor, I love to meet people in this step of seeking help and create a safe space to explore your current struggles, process emotions, and to foster curiosity about your story.
I hold a relational, story-based perspective on the counseling process. We were created for relationships, to be fully seen and fully loved. However, life often teaches us that the world and people are not safe. While pain and trauma often come from relationships, I believe healing can also come from relationships. Healing can be fostered when hurts are named, processed, and when we learn to trust again. This process can begin in the counseling room through a collaborative therapeutic relationship.
I work from an attachment focused, person-centered, psychodynamic theoretical framework. Along with this, I integrate emotionally focused therapy, solution focused therapy, somatic work, and mindfulness. With clients who are seeking to integrate the resources of the Christian faith into their counseling journey, I integrate this as well.
We are all people made to be whole, seeking to find meaning and fulfillment in life. Pain and brokenness can lead to the experience of hopelessness and loneliness, but this doesn’t have to be the end of the story. I would be honored to walk with you as you journey toward emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual holistic healing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary Orlando. I received my clinical training at the Oviedo Counseling Clinic where I worked with clients with various struggles such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional awareness, self-image, disordered eating and body image, grief, relational issues, abuse, family systems issues, and others.
