Life is a journey, and we’re all simply trying to find our way home. Along the way, the weight of
what we carry can make the path difficult. Sometimes, we just need to pause, set down our
burdens, and take the time and space to sort through what’s weighing us down. Only then can we
continue the journey with a lighter load and a clearer sense of who we are and where we are
headed. I look forward to journeying with you!
About Me
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Liberty University, an intern at SureHope
Counseling & Training Center, and a pre-certified pastoral psychotherapist. In 2011, I earned a
Master of Divinity with a focus in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Gardner-Webb School of
Divinity, and in 2023 I earned an MA in Christian Ministry with a focus in Christian Counseling
from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I am a certified SYMBIS facilitator and have been
counseling for over two years.
I have counseled in private practice for the last two years as a fee-based practicing pastoral
counselor and am pursuing state licensure as a clinical mental health counselor. Before
counseling in private practice, I obtained counseling experience through clinical training in
chaplaincy at CaroMont Regional Medical Center of Gastonia, as well as counseling as an intern
at the River Life Fellowship Wellness Center.
I am passionate about helping others experience healing and restoration by integrating insights
from psychology, neuroscience, and Christian spirituality. I have both worked and served in
ministry for the last twenty years while advancing my education and growing my family. In my
free time, I enjoy listening to podcasts and books on audio, spending time with my family, and
chasing sunsets and good coffee.
My Approach
I work with children (ages 8+), teens, adults, couples, and families using a combination of
cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems therapy, narrative therapy, family systems
therapy, and play therapy while incorporating elements of The Life Model. My areas of
expertise include anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship
challenges, and Christian spirituality. I provide pre-marital counseling services utilizing
SYMBIS and work with couples struggling with relationship conflicts and communication.
